Writing in Kuching

I'm on holiday, so my projects are on pause for now. Not making much progress, but enjoying the break.

Life Update

I’m in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia as I write this. I came here for a friend’s wedding and decided to stay a bit longer for a holiday. I’ve been exploring the town—visiting shops, restaurants, cafés, and old bookstores.

I discovered a hidden gem called Star Company, an old stationery shop run by an elderly couple. The place feels “vintage”. The books I found weren’t in great shape, and just by their look and smell, you could tell they’d been there for ages (but I love that!). I picked up some vintage books for only 2 Malaysian Ringgit each. That’s so cheap! They’re classic titles too, which makes me really happy to have them.

I also brought a book along that I’ve been wanting to read—Neuromancer by William Gibson. I read half of it in just three days, and I’m proud of that. I should finish it by the end of the month.

Project Update

I haven’t done much work while in Kuching these past few days. I’ve only managed some writing—working on my novella, short stories, and this newsletter. I’ve been out most days until late, so I haven’t had the energy to be creative. Plus, I didn’t want to carry my iPad around all day.

I’ve missed a few days of game development and illustration design, but I think I’ve balanced the week by focusing on writing. I’m hoping to get more done next week.

For this week, my total stats for projects worked on daily are: 24/70.
